My goodness this was a beautiful day!
Kyle and Liz took us on quite an adventure… from flying up to San Jose, staying a couple days in Santa Cruz with my husband and son, meeting the wedding party in the Redwood Forest and hiking the trails, to witnessing their ceremony at their home church in San Jose. It was an honor to photograph their day and spend time with their friends and family.
Thanks for the adventure, you sweet kids! And for helping me reach my fitbit step goal 😉
I never knew how enjoyable a hike on a wedding day could be!
A couple weeks ago my handsome husband, Steve, officiated a WEDDING for our friends Alex and Hannah! Their story is such a cool thing to be a part of!
Basically, Alex got a job working for the Starbucks Roastery in downtown Seattle and in a matter of 4 weeks they decided to accept the job, get engaged, married, and move to the city from our small Southern California desert town! Pretty exciting! Their actual engaged time was only 20 days. THESE KIDS ARE NUTS, I TELL YA 😉
Steve and I were able to give them 3 premarital classes in our home in that short amount of time too. It was a crazy and busy February but we were so happy to be a part of it! Steve wrote their entire ceremony (I added in a few jokes) and I snapped a few portraits for them!
Kelly and Zach have an even better love story than Zach Morris and Kelly Kapowski. It’s true! These two met as they were bridesmaiding and groomsmaning at their mutual friends wedding last December, hit it off, and got married in December of the next year. BAM!
Enjoy their day!
Some of the best moments of the day right here… the pregnant best man and the add on groomsmen from a different wedding! These people are nuts
It was at this couple’s wedding (below) that Zach and Kelly got to walk down the aisle together… the first time!
His sweet mama asked for a photo with her newly married son and burt into tears instantly! So sweet.
My friends got married!! On a perfectly stormy day in Vegas
They are absolute goofballs together.
I loved the way her dressed moved! So pretty.
Nikki + Jake decided to do a first prayer instead of a first look. The anticipation was incredibly sweet and I wanted to shout “KISS KISS KISS!” like Kathy Geiss (30 Rock).
They even served ice cream cookie sandwiches to their friends and family!
CONGRATULATIONS NIKKI + JAKEY ELLIS!!!
This is a story of a California girl moving to Princeton for school and falling in love with a New Jersey boy in a coffee shop.
His bride gave him a letter moments before their first look…. and this guy had no clue what he was in for! Instant tears for his beautiful bride.
I love the “now let me check you out” moment!
Brier Rose Design did a beautiful job with the muted and rustic fall florals!
Their lives are on the east coast but the marriage begun on the west coast! So, we had fun incorporating the California sunshine and the New York-y brick buildings and alleys.
I wish you guys all the best!! We hope to run into you in New York City sometime
Angelica & Geroge,
It was such an honor to photograph your BEAUTIFUL wedding day! Your love story is rad. And hearing your friends gush about what great people you two are (intelligent, kind, compassionate) allowed me to see not only how AWESOME you are as a couple but how extremely humble as well. What admirable qualities! No wonder they all flew from the east coast for your big day!
Enjoy the tail end of your honeymoon in Italy! Good thing you have such a great life in Chicago to go home too, huh?
Their bridal party really was the best. After I followed everyone back down the aisle I noticed the bridal party hanging out in a tight hallway and the bride and groom weren’t at the end of the line. I looked around and one of the groomsmen said “we wanted to give them some space…” and pointed behind a wall of plants to where they were. I mean, how considerate is that? Usually they bride and groom are giving hugs and high fives (which is great too) but letting the couple breathe for a second was something I totally respect! (so that’s what the photo below is)
Angelica is from the San Fernando Valley and George is from Pittsburg; however, they met and fell in love in Chicago. I love the way their wedding blended east and west coast!

Chad and Kristin’s beautifully lavender and sweet summer wedding was wonderful from beginning to end.
What you need to know: this couple is sweeter than sweet, super in love, generous and kind, wonderful to all of their friends and family, and super fun together! Their wedding was full of a lot of sweet moments like reading their personal vows during the first look, Chad reading out of Kristin’s fathers bible at the ceremony, a foot washing ceremony at the reception, and pizza with bottled coke served for dinner!
RECEPTION TIME!!! Nothing better than pizza and glass bottle coke!
The bride wore her mother’s veil for the ceremony and changed into this awesome headpiece for the reception. loved it.
